For the record:

At his 4 year checkup (which was, fine, a month late, but close enough), Asher was 39 inches tall (2oth percentile) and weighed 34 pounds (34th percentile, strangely enough).

He was also quite impressively brave about his shots, and quite insistent that the one thing in the known universe that would make him feel better about shots was the day's fourth (!) reading of Chapter 4 of The House at Pooh Corner, also known as

"read me InWhichItIsShownThatTiggers DON'T ...CLIMB.... TREES!!!!"

Yeah. He likes that one.

Little brother or sister is still doing well, too, at least as far as I can tell. Which is pretty far, given that I'm having non-stress tests (30 minutes of fetal monitoring) twice a week these days. As of Thursday, July 30, the baby was estimated to be 3 lb 12 oz -- the same as I weighed when I was born!

Hm... other updates: we have lots of tomatoes ripening these days, which I am ALL ABOUT. Yum. Sometime this week, our house will become a construction zone for new windows and siding. Yuck. And, I somehow have to get ready for classes, plus mostly finish getting ready for baby, in the next 3 weeks. Yikes!

I'm glad you are enjoying your 4 year old, your tomatoes, and the anticipation of another baby McCathern!
